What size Apple Watch band do I need?

Apple Watch bands are sized by the watch case, not the wrist — and with a band that includes a case, the series matters too. Here is how to get it right the first time.

OROBAY Apple Watch band with case on a wrist

Step 1: read the back of the watch

Turn the watch over. The case size — 38, 40, 41, 42, 44, 45, 46 or 49mm — is engraved on the back or in Settings > General > About. Note the series as well: a band with a case has to match the shape of the body, not just the strap lugs.

Step 2: match size and series

  • 49mm: Apple Watch Ultra 4, 3, 2 and 1.
  • 46mm: Series 10, 11 and 12 (separate Series 12 version).
  • 45mm and 44mm: Series 9–4 and SE — one shared band.
  • 41mm and 40mm: Series 9–4 and SE — one shared band.
  • 42mm: Series 1–3 (large) or Series 10/11 (small) — different bands.
  • 38mm: Series 1–3, shares the small band.

Step 3: check your wrist

Wrap a strip of paper around your wrist where you wear the watch, mark it and measure flat. OROBAY large bands fit about 6.3 to 9.06 inches, small bands 5.31 to 7.87 inches, and the long-strap 2-packs 6.97 to 10.04 inches.
